So I wrote an essay for the Best Day Ever Contest. A lady from it called me today and asked me if I knew that my essay would be published for everyone to read if it continued in the running to win. My essay was pretty personal, and she did not know if I would want it for everyone to read. I know most of you have no idea what my essay was on, but I couple people do. So, I was wondering if you, who read it thought I should pull it from the contest or keep it and let others read it. Others can post their opinions too. Thank you for your help.

K-- Having read your essay, I think that you need to trust your gut. I remember asking you about the same issue of sharing the info, and you seemed comfortable with it.
ReplyDeleteI think with any cathartic writing, you are not the only person who heals. Someone else may be trying to deal with a death of a loved one and not knowing what to do with that pain. What if you publishing this helped one other person??? Totally worth it.
Talk to your mom about it and trust your gut.
Yeah I have decided to keep it in the running. I just have to call lady back now. Thanks for your thoughts on it. You are right it may help someone else. That's the best thing that could happen.
