August 7 --"Reading rocks in Rockford"

Hey, writers!!!
Sat. August 7, 10am-3pm in downtown Rockford.
I just picked up a brochure on this...
Of most interest to you all: 10:30-12:00 Adult Writing Workshop (at the Library) "Take publishing into your own hands/internet publishing and You..."

Not sure, but sounds like a great literary adventure. I plan to take Simon and Addie to see Kevin Kammeraad at ~11:00 at the "Garden Park Stage" on Squire St. Maybe I will see you there!

Stop and grab a BRIGHT YELLOW brochure at a Rockford business to get the whole scoop. Not sure if they have a website-- haven't looked.

PS -- let me know what you're reading!!! "The Help" was amazing!!! "A Tale of Two Cities" is proving difficult but worthy!

  1. hmmm, sounds interesting...i'm possibly going up to mt. pleasant this weekend, though. but if that plan falls through i'll definitely go to this!! even if it means waking up early and going all the way out to rockford... :P eh, i've got college band camp in 2 weeks anyway, so i should probably start getting used to waking up early.

reading: Linger by Maggie Steifvater came out last month and it's absolutely amazing!! the first book in the series is Shiver. seriously WK, you need to read these books. they're amazing. i'm currently tackling Perchance to Dream by Lisa Manchev. i like it and it's a really unique idea she had for it, but it's not my favorite.

  3. I'm currently reading Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk. I've only just started and am already intrigued, as always with Palahniuk. After this I'm being forced to read a Chronicles of Amber book by Roger Zelazny haha. So we'll see how that one is too.

Oh and just because I'm really excited about it...I got my first tattoo =]
I'll post it after it's done healing so I can show it off hahaha =P

  4. It was really cool. Most of the people were pretty old though. There were only three teenagers (myself, Morgan, and Bethany), about six in their late thirties to forties, and then ten to fifteen that were very close to retirement. I really didn't expect that for a workshop that involved the internet. We got free info. though. Yea!

  5. Glad you got something from the Rockford gig -- so proud that 3 SHS peeps were there!

I just started "Hunger Games" -- a quick, interesting dystopia novel... I know some of you have reccommended it to me before.
