New Idea for Mornings

As the end of November approaches (all too quickly) so does our run of writing poems in the morning and we go back to good ol' Garrison. I personally enjoyed writing in the morning, I'm not sure how the rest of you felt about it. I was thinking of doing something different instead of listening to Garrison everyday. Maybe we could split the week up so we could listen to Garrison and then on other days do a quick writing prompt (that are fun). Either WK and Mcclain could come up with some interesting things to write about or we could all write in suggestions of what we would like to do. For example a friend of mine does this in the morning and one of their prompts was: "Someone sits next to you on a bench and begins telling you what the 'Truth' is, explain what they say to you" or something simple like explain how a (insert inanimate object here) sees things. Just something interesting and fun or thought provoking. I think it would be cool to do something that gets me thinking in the morning or challenges me a little. But again, I don't know how the rest of you feel.
So let me know what you think =]
Hopefully I explained that pretty well...

  1. That sounds like a good idea to me. I would like the challenge of writing something every morning. I like writing and listening to the poems in the morning as well, but this writing prompt sounds interesting to me. I would like to give it a try. =D

  2. We should get a suggestion box together (only with a more interesting name). All of us could just add random ideas like "drops" or snack foods" or anything else random just like the "attachment" thing. Then we can just draw one for our writing prompt. I get the feeling that's how he comes up with the ideas anyway.
I love writing the poems too.

  3. i think that this is a good idea, i would much rather write than listen to garrison read poetry in his dull monotonous voice. and i think an idea box would be a perfect way to decide the prompt of the day. i also love those thought provoking topics...
anyways, good idea kelly, and i really hope that we can actually do something like that.

  4. I really like this idea as well....its very clever 'clever kelly'. I think we would ALL enjoy changing it up every other day or so instead of going back to Garrison everyday. I didn't mind the poems we read, but the idea did get a little tiring. But this sounds like something fun to do. =D

  5. I really like the idea of the idea box. It would be awesome to draw up some ideas that come from the class. I think we're all mature enough to put in appropriate suggestions as well. I like the idea of doing something different everday. The prompts wouldn't just be poetry either, for those of us who don't enjoy writing the poetry. They could little stories our thoughts on certain topics as well.
